CANON- Pre production (Creative elements)
Before i start production, i wanted to create a brief plan on what i wanted the magazine cover to look like. This means the layout of the magazine, the rough plan of what the shot will look like such as lighting angle, shot size and time of day. I plan to shoot along Seaburn beach as its very long bit of land so there is a big variety of shot types and angles i could use. There is also lots of possibilities of types of shots i could use and i could manipulate my camera skills to create the best shot i can. I though if i shoot this at night i could get the street lights to reflect off the sea creatively so you get this colourful reflection which brightens up the sky. Then I thought if I shoot it at night then i can but a bright coloured title to contrast and stand out from the dark background. Then if I put the title and images at the top and bottom of the cover then it wont get in the way of the vivid eye catching image. This is just a rough sketch plan so it is highly likely that i end up somewhat slightly changing the layout during production once I actually have the image and see how this fits the layout and i will most likely see opportunities to make it better.
Print Advert plan
For the print advert i wanted to make this shot as eye catching as possible. So my plan is to get the shot either at sunset or moon rise. This is because the top of the sky will be dark and towards the horizon, the sky will be lighter, so you get a transition of colours. Also the moon or sun would be reflecting off the sea which will make the sea look shiny and glisten blue light back off the sky creating a very eye catching image. This would be an an eye level POV shot so the eye level is in line with the horizon. The whole purpose of this plan is to have it being so eye catching and colourful as there isnt going to be as much detail in it as oppose to the magazine cover since its a poster so there won't be loads of text. So i want there to be alot more going on with the lighting and colours in order to get the audiences attention. This is because in the audience research they said they wanted there to be lots of colours to get their attention, and in the focus group someone said they wanted it to show obscure and unique imagery so therefore i am trying to achieve this by having the moon reflect of the sea to create a very unique and obscure image to grasp the audiences attention.
